Pastor Derek Bartelt

Pastor Derek Bartelt was born in Hustisford, WI in 1987. A year later, his family moved to Southern California. In 2001, he moved back to Wisconsin where he attended Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School and attended college at MLC. After he graduated MLC, he worked with WELS Kingdom Workers in Torreón, Mexico and León, Mexico before returning to the United States to resume his education at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary. Upon returning, he and Emily got married before finishing his senior year at the Seminary and ultimately being assigned to Christ the Vine Lutheran Church in Temecula, CA.


His wife, Emily, was born and raised in Cedarburg, WI. She went to college at Concordia in Mequon, both for undergrad and graduate studies. She graduated with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.


The Bartelts have three children, Lillian, Noah, and Wyatt.


Pastor Kenneth Frey

Pastor Kenneth Frey was born and raised in Colorado, growing up mostly in Leadville and Grand Junction. He graduated from Fruita Monument High School in 1976.  He continued his education at Northwestern College and Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary.  After graduation in 1985, he was assigned to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beckley, West Virginia.  He also served at Lincoln Heights Lutheran Church in Des Moines, Iowa.  In 1995 he accepted a call to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton, Wisconsin where he served until his retirement in December, 2024.  


He married Connie Schooley in 1982.  They have three children, Luke, Amy and Daniel and five grandchildren.  


Connie also grew up in Colorado.  She received an education degree from Metro State College in Denver.  After being a stay at home mom for many years, she worked for a non-profit agency, Child Care Resource and Referral in Appleton from which she retired in 2022.


Ken and Connie enjoy their grandchildren’s activities, biking, hiking and traveling.  

Stephen Kamps

Preschool

Stephen and Rachael are high school sweethearts and got married June 20, 2009. 


Their ministry began in Milwaukee and then the Lord called Stephen to serve here in 2014.  Rachael was called in 2015 to be the preschool teacher. 


They have been blessed with 4 children.  Their family enjoys going for walks and playing at the beach.

Katie Sheives

Grades 5-8 and Spanish

Katie is from Burlington, WI. She went to Burlington High School. She attended schooling in Mexico and then went to attend UW-Whitewater. As part of her degree, she lived in Sevilla, Spain and attended school there for a year. She graduated UW-Whitewater with a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish and Business Management. She has taught Spanish grades K-8 at St. John's Lutheran in Burlington where she and her family are members.


Katie joined the Army in 2009 and resided in Texas from 2009 until 2012. She has since moved back to Wisconsin and lives in Burlington. She has 2 children Bernadette and James. 


She enjoys adventures, traveling, and anything outdoors with her children, and all of their many animals.

Erica Warmuth

Kindergarten - 1st Grade

Erica Warmuth graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College. She was a Spanish immersion teacher for several years before she took a break from classroom teaching to be a stay at home mom while her children were young.  


 Erica lives in Paddock Lake with her husband, Ben, and their three children; Noah, Levi, and Robin.  


 She enjoys sewing, music, and thrift stores.

Steven Davis

Office Manager/STEM

Steven Davis joined the church and school staff in the fall of 2017 as the Office Administrator. He and his wife, Leah, are blessed with three daughters: Madelynn, Mackenzie, and Amelia.


Steven grew up in Sharon on his family’s dairy farm. He is a graduate of UW–Madison with a degree in Dairy Herd Management and Gateway Technical College with a degree in Landscape Design. 


A lifelong member of First, Steven is grateful for the opportunity to serve the church and school as part of the staff.


In their free time, the Davis family enjoys traveling and spending time together in their backyard.

June Clark

Custodian

June has been a lifetime member here at First Lutheran.  

June and her husband, Darwin, have been married since 1971 and have two children, Sheila Thirion and Kevin Clark.  She has four grandchildren. 


She retired from Alden - Hebron School and has
been working at First Lutheran since 1992.
