Sin - We believe that no one is perfect. In the
words of the Apostle Paul, "All have turned away, they have together
become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." (Romans
3:12) Any action that contradicts God's will we call sin. And so,
if you're looking for the perfect church, you won't find it here; we're
full of sinners.
Judgment - Unlike the endearing little flaws and quirks that we observe in
our loved ones, sin is neither endearing nor enduring. God hates sin and
tells us that "the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23) Sin is
not something easily ignored. It has eternal consequences.
Grace - All hope is not lost! Even though everyone is guilty of sin
and rightly deserves eternal judgment, God loved you too much to stand by and
watch you die. Instead he chose to give you "the gift of God [that]
is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." (Romans 6:23) You see, by
having the innocent Son of God die in place of sinners like you, God has
pardoned your sins! Your imperfection and sin is exchanged for Jesus'
perfection and holiness.
Life - Because Jesus forgave your sins by dying on the cross, you are
free from the fear of death and have eternal life waiting for you in
heaven. More than that, though, you have a new lease on life here on
earth. As the Apostle Paul says, "Count yourselves dead to sin but
alive in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so
that you obey its evil desires... but rather offer yourselves to God, as those
who have been brought from death to life." (Romans 6:11-13)
That is a brief summary of what we believe, but to get a true sense of what we believe, you will have to experience it in person - in worship. There is nothing better than worshiping together and growing together. We hope you can come and be part of what's really worthwhile.
